    SURF WITH QUIKSILVER 

    SURF CAMP in CAPE TOWN

     

    Hi All,

    We are running a Surf with Quiksilver  boys only Camp in Cape Town. Three dates available:

    20th-22nd December & 4th-6th January 2012 & 24th-26th March 2012

    The camp will include the following:

    • Introducing video analysis
    • Surf coaching
    • Still photos
    • We will be surfing and coaching at surf spots around the Southern Peninsula

    The boys will also learn the following:

    • Wave predictions and whether charts – how to correctly chart the weather conditions and predict optimum conditions for surfing
    • Types of surf breaks – Learning the difference between split peaks,multiple random peaks,point breaks,reef breaks and beach breaks
    • Fitness for Surfing
    • Surfboard construction – how surfboards are made including a surfboard shaping factory tour
    • The History and development of Surfing
    • Environmental factors
    • Nutrition for surfing
    • Surf rules and Etiquette at surf breaks
    • An introduction to stand up paddle boarding

    We will be staying in a house in Fish Hoek  (http://capetowncoastal.com/) and will be driven by myself ,Roxy (with PDP) in our Kia Pregio 12 seater buswith trailer.
    The house is fully equipped with pool,DSTV,Internet with wireless,4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
    All meals will be provided during the surf camp.

    The price would be R1500 which includes
    All meals transport , petrol accommodation , coaching , surfboard and wetsuit hire if needed as well as all the above information such as factory tours,SUP lessons etc.

    Misverstand Dam Mission

    After all the surfing we have been doing  for the year we will be taking our water sports to a dam and be Ski’ing, tubing, wakeboarding, SUP’ing , skurfing (surfing behind the boat), fishing and boating in general! A trip not to be missed!

    Roxy Surf School and Surf Emporium will be hosting an open surf contest  on 1-2 October in conjunction with the Battle of the Bay 5km SUP race from Fish Hoek to Muizenberg and the SUP wave event!

    Come to compete or to enjoy the festivities at the Surfers corner Muizenberg and spend an epic day at the beach!

    The contest will be a super cool format: a combination of two rounds so everyone surfs twice and top wave scorer’s will progress though to the semi finals!

    There will be prizes awarded to the top finishers in each division, the divisions are as follows:

    Boys/Girls under 12

    Boys under 14              & Girls under 14

    Boys under 16 &              Girls under 16

    Boys under 18              & Girls under 18

    Boys Open Division  & Girls Open Division

    and last but not least , The prestigeous Diva’s Division

    Vic Bay Triple Crown

    September, details will be decided closer to the date, and you will be informed, but we are hoping to have an extra special event to outshine the one in Hawaii. It happens to be George’s 200 year celebrations, and they are emphasising the town as a sporting destination. SCBRA will employ every trick in the book (legal and illegal) to coax some financial backing from The Jewel of the Garden Route.
