Create4 Adaptive Surfing Wetsuit Design Competition

Adaptive Surfing - Parasurfing South Africa has already inspired so many lives. Adaptive surfers experience various forms of disability, including but not limited to, paralyses, cerebral palsy, blindness, amputations etc. These are just some of the many physical challenges that they overcome to share the stoke of simply catching waves (and invariably trying to ride them better).

Witnessing Danito, a blind surfer going into the waves at Muizenberg, Cape Town is one of the most powerful moments I have experienced. This combined with the enthusiasm from the volunteers and surf coaches from Surf Emporium is inspiring and infectious!

Adaptive Surfing South Africa aims to give disabled people, freedom through surfing. So far they have changed many lives and look forward to the sport growing this year again.  The 3rd Adaptive Surfing World Championship was held in La Jolla, San Diego in November and we came home with a silver medal for Antony Smyth! Well done Ant!

To help raise awareness around Adaptive Surfing and create a product that will make it easier for adaptive surfers to get into a wetsuit, Create4 is running a Wetsuit Design Competition with Reef Wetsuits. There are amazing prizes for the top 3 designers, but the best prize of all, is that Reef will turn the winning wetsuit design into a reality!
