Surf Lesson and Adaptive Surf Morning Experience for the Media Community

It gives Surf Emporium great pleasure in hosting this unique opportunity, in collaboration with Adaptive Surfing South Africa and Adaptive Surfing World Champion, Ant Smyth. The experience is two fold and includes a surf lesson for a team of Media personalities, followed by the surf students becoming the volunteers as part of the team facilitating an adaptive surf lesson for individuals with disabilities.

What is Adaptive Surfing?

Adaptive Surfers experience various forms of disability, including but not limited to, paralyses, cerebral palsy, blindness, amputations etc. These are just some of the many physical challenges that they overcome to share the stoke of simply catching waves (and invariably trying to ride them better). Adaptive Surfing, as a sport, has been rapidly growing and we are dedicated to assisting with this growth both locally and nationally. At the last annual ISA World Adaptive Surfing Championships, over a hundred athletes from 25 different countries, took part in the competition. This year, South Africa will yet again have a team representing us at the championships held in California, USA.

Are you or do you know of someone in the media community that would like to get involved?

We are calling on YOU! We are appealing to any and all media personalities who would like to get involved and profile Adaptive Surfing so we can take it even bigger & better places! Calling all radio stations, DJs, celebrities, athletes, sportsmen, sportswomen, TV shows, TV show hosts, actors, singers, bloggers, vloggers, YouTubers, social media sensations, models and anyone else within the media community who would be keen to get involved! You will join a group of influential participants who will receive a complimentary private surf lesson, Vida e Caffe lunch and the opportunity to volunteer in an Adaptive Surf Lesson - where you will personally be involved in making someone's dream come true!
